Voortman Steel Machinery (Rijssen, Netherlands) launches the Voortman Fabricator, a welding system for structural steel. The system processes the most common steel construction protocols like plates, angle irons, tubes, U-profiles, and crane runway consoles. According to the company, it is the first welding robot that can be fit and weld.
The firm also introduces DIGI-WELD, a software solution that automates the welding preparation process. It analyzes and corrects 3D models for welding information at one click.
The system features the following:
- Industrial, 6-axis Panasonic arc welding robot;
- Industrial, 6-axis Panasonic handling robot;
- Built-in 450A welding power source
- Water-cooled welding torch with quick disconnect;
- Compressor cooling with temperature control; and
- Automatic machine calibration and automatic tool center point calibration.
Rotational positioners with hydraulic clamping handle payloads up to 6,000 kg/13,227 lbs. for three rotators. The product integrates an optical sensor with a laser line projector that captures 98+ million points of data. It scans for plate thicknesses, outside contours, and inside contours to ensure quality control as well as product recognition. The Fabricator will handle profile lengths up to 60 ft.
