AMADA’s (Buena Park, CA) REGIUS Series is an ultra-high-speed cutting system, which leverages combined assets of the world’s fastest 3-axis linear drive system. The system includes numerous autonomous features such as lens monitoring, collision recovery, automatic head recovery, and nozzle change and centering.
The Laser Integration System (LIS) incorporates several features that reduce setup time and maximize quality. It autonomously monitors the nozzle condition, pierce penetration, tip-ups, and debris on the protection glass. The i-Nozzle Checker continually inspects the nozzles for their position, centering, shape, and diameter. If damage is detected, the nozzle is replaced automatically. The i-Process Monitor analyzes the beam and cutting conditions to ensure optimal configuration. i-Optics Sensor is installed inside the lens holder and regularly monitors the condition of the protective glass.
i-Camera Assist System has a camera installed inside the safety enclosure and works in tandem with the system’s AMNC 3i control to efficiently process remnant materials. The i-Camera System measures the position of the sheet, adjusts the origin point, and records residual sheet values. Parts the operator plans to process are displayed on the AMNC 3i control and can be easily moved, rotated, and placed to achieve on-screen nesting.
The REGIUS additionally includes Automatic Collision Recovery. To reduce the risk of damage during high-speed cutting, the laser head tilts as if a collision with a tip-up occurs. After a collision, the nozzle will automatically be replaced and cutting will immediately resume at the next NC coordinate.
The REGIUS utilizes ENSIS technology, enabling continuous processing of thin materials and thick plate without a cutting lens change or manual setup. This is made possible by a resonator that automatically changes the beam mode to accommodate for whatever material and thickness are being processed. The latest advancement of ENSIS technology includes the addition of an advanced Collimation System that controls beam diameter and beam configuration, providing infinite mode and diameter control.
