OnRobot (Odense, Denmark) offers the new 2FG14 gripper that has a 14 kg (30.9 lb.) capacity and uses a parallel grip structure. It is a fully electrical gripper that can perform in the sometimes harsh environments of manufacturing; the gripper is well sealed against any industrial impurities. Additionally, the gripper fingers can be configured to grip “inside” (force is applied inward to hold an object) or “outside” (to, for example, grip a hollow cube or heavy container from the inside using force applied outward from the middle).
Although it is available as a complete, off-the-shelf gripper, the base can accommodate customized parallel fingers, making it easier to adapt to unique specification requirements. Large, heavy parts are handled with full gripping control to quickly deploy and redeploy your application. The gripper is compatible with any major robot brand.
Due to its blend of versatility of robot integration, full control of the electric gripping (with feedback from a sensor in the gripping finger), high capacity, and flexibility in gripping fingers, it can serve in a number of important functions within an industrial location:
- Machining: loading and unloading of materials up to 14 kg, plus other machine tending duties such as tool changing
- Material handling: transferring parts from machine to conveyor or pallet, packaging items, and sorting parts
- Assembly: insertion into assemblies, and mounting of parts onto a substructure
The robot gripper is lightweight (1.5 kg or 3.3 lbs.) and is IP67 compliant, proving its ability to withstand fluids, metal chips, and dust.
