The new 4HEP-E from Faccin (Addison, TX) is a 4-roll, direct electric-drive plate roll. The system features rolling speeds of up to 10 meters/minute (32.8 feet/minute). The improved operator ergonomics include a nearly 15-dB reduction in noise levels as well as lower vibration. Additional features include an integrated heavy duty drop-end, a centralized lubrication system, enhanced braking torque, and durable screw pumps for quieter operation.
The bending rolls of the 4HEP-E are hydraulic while the rotation of the top and pinching rolls is electric. The result of this new hybrid design is higher productivity, reduced electrical consumption, and greater ergonomics associated with the handling, staging, squaring, and rolling of steel plate.
The 4HEP-E is suitable for rolling steel up to 75 mm (3 inches) thick and widths from 2 to 4 meters (6 to 13 feet). The 4-roll direct electric-drive is engineered to be pre-plumbed, wired, and structurally designed to accept all future accessories, upgrades, and retrofitting with virtually no downtime. The machine also efficiently consumes electricity, reportedly reducing consumption by up to 35%.
