LVD (Akron, NY) releases Puma, its new, cost-efficient fiber laser cutting machine designed to provide a lower cost of ownership. It is available with a 3 kW, 6 kW, or 12 kW laser power source and in 3050 x 1525 mm (120 x 60 inches), 4065 x 2035 mm (160 x 80 inches), and 6160 x 2035 mm (242.5 x 80 inches) formats.
The Puma cutting head incorporates crash protection, motorized focus position adjustment, and capacitive height sensing, and it includes automated functions for sheet referencing, cutting gas selection, pressure control, and nozzle cleaning. High machine dynamics enable productive cutting across a wide range of material types and thicknesses.
Puma’s shuttle table system allows one table to be loaded or unloaded while cutting occurs on the other table. Table changeover takes 35 seconds. The system has a welded steel, mono-frame construction and can be equipped or retrofitted with any MOVit modular automation system.
