The TruPrint 3000 is Trumpf’s (Farmington, CT) general, medium-format Laser Metal Fusion (LMF) solution for metal 3D printing. It features a build volume of 300 mm diameter x 400 mm height as well as an interchangeable cylinder principle, allowing for simultaneous LMF and processing of powder and parts.
TruPrint 3000 is compatible with metal powders such as stainless steels, tool steels, and
aluminum alloys as processable materials. It features a maximum laser power of 500 W and a beam diameter (individually adjustable) of 100-500 μm. TruPrint 3000 builds at a rate of 5-60 cm³/hr and features a layer thickness of 20-50 μm.
TruPrint 3000 utilizes power bed monitoring, which uses an integrated camera to monitor and process images of the power bed, giving an overview of the component state and providing insight into the quality parameters layer by layer. For its software, Trumpf has partnered with Siemens to offer TruTops Print with Siemens NX. The software solution includes Trumpf’s build processor and offers tools for development, simulation, 3D printing, and NC programming for metal parts.
