DMG Mori’s (Bielefeld, Germany) LASERTEC 12 SLM is a powder bed additive manufacturing option, which uses selective laser melting. LASERTEC 12 SLM features a build volume of 125 x 125 x 200 mm and a focus diameter of 35 microns. It can use application-specific fiber laser sources from 200 W to 400 W.
LASERTEC 12 SLM makes use of rePLUG, DMG Mori’s powder module. It can change between materials in less than two hours without contamination and offers integrated powder recycling. rePLUG makes use of a duo filter system, changing the filter without process interruption. The module has a large powder reservoir, eliminating the need for manual refilling during the build process.
LASERTEC 12 SLM includes OPTOMET, a parameter optimization software. It offers parameter development for new materials with adaptable material properties and layer thickness. OPTOMET may be paired with rePLUG RESEARCH, an optional, additional powder module developed for material and process parameter development. For operating, LASERTEC 12 SLM uses CELOS, which includes CAM programming directly on the machine control and camera-based monitoring of build process and coating quality. CELOS also includes HEAT-calculation, a patented calculation of mass distribution and automated adjustment of all laser parameters.
