Flow Waterjet’s Mach 500 series is a flexible waterjet cutting solution with a number of optional cutting heads and pumps. The Mach 500 series offers a rapid traverse maximum of 17.8 m/min (700 ipm), a linear straightness accuracy of plus or minus 0.038 mm/m (0.0015 in/3 ft), a repeatability of 0.03 mm (0.001 in), and a ballbar circularity of plus or minus 0.064 mm.
The Mach 500 series may be configured with any of Flow’s cutting head offerings. The Dynamic XD head provides 5-axis motion, capable of cutting compound angles with high accuracy. Dynamic XD may also be paired with Compass, Flow’s multi-axis contour follower for further improved accuracy. The standard waterjet head incorporates garnet abrasive to create high-speed streams capable of cutting almost any hard material via supersonic erosion. The Dynamic waterjet is said to be three times faster and more accurate than a conventional waterjet. The Pure Waterjet cuts with hair-thin pure waterjet stream and is ideal for soft materials.
The series may also be paired with any of Flow’s pump offerings. The HyperJet pump features a pressure rated at 6,500 bar (94,000 PSI) and has a continuous operating pressure of 6,000 BAR (87,000 PSI). HyPlex features 4,150 BAR (60,000 PSI). Intensifier is Flow’s high-pressure pump with continuous operating pressure rated at 4,150 BAR (60,000 PSI).
The Mach 500 series uses Flow’s suite of software: FlowXpert is the 3D model based CAD/CAM software. FlowCut is the control system that integrates the operation of the pump, cutting head, and XY motion. FlowPath offers simple operational controls, and FlowNest provides full geometric nesting, optimized for waterjet.
