The HSFDB-C from Peddinghaus (Bradley, IL) is a high-speed, heavy-duty plate processing machine, which can process plate up to a maximum thickness of 4 inches. The system provides high speed carbide drilling, SignoMat stamping, plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting, bevel cutting, and milling. The system processes an average of 1 ton per hour for materials up to 1 inch (25 mm) in thickness and 2 tons per hour for materials above 1 inch (25 mm) in thickness.
The HSFDB-C includes material dimensioning where plate edge dimensions are detected by a laser probe system. Plate thickness is determined by a transducer, which is mechanically linked to the vertical clamping and drive mechanism.
The HSFDB-C features Peddinhaus’ Roller Feed measurement system, providing 12 tons of clamping pressure and constant contact with the material. The machine includes a 12-station tool changer and a stamping unit with a magazine of 36 characters and a rate of 1 character per second.
The system has a 48 hp (36 kW) Siemens spindle motor with speeds up to 2,250 rpm, a maximum spindle size of 3 inches, and a feed rate of 30 inches per minute. Thermal cutting is available for all forms of the HSFDB-C.
