Muratec, a Murata Machinery (Charlotte, NC) brand, released the Advanced Hybrid Fiber Laser system, the LS3015HL, providing fiber laser cutting, forming, and tapping. The machine features an integrated flying optics system for fiber laser cutting and upper and lower servo drives for maximizing laser and forming capabilities. The system is suitable for a wide range of applications including large-volume runs, short-run stamping, prototype and sample parts production, and varied geometries.
For its fiber laser system, the LS3015HL processes material on a slat pallet using flying optics. The material is then moved to the forming brush table by a fork unit utilizing work clamps.
The system has a positioning accuracy of ±0.001 inches (±0.01 mm), a repeat accuracy of ±0.001 inches (±0.01 mm) and a rapid traverse speed of 6,692.9 ipm (170 m/min). The forming unit includes 8 forming stations and has a maximum processing capacity of 5 tons. The tapping unit performs machine tap or rolling tap and comes standard with 4 stations, but 8 stations may be accommodated.
