The MicroMAX from OMAX offers precise abrasive waterjet machining from a small footprint. The MicroMAX features 0.1-micron linear optical encoders and vibration isolation of table and gantries, providing a positioning accuracy of less than five microns. It can machine stainless steel, titanium, carbon fiber, PEEK, glass, nitinol, graphite, copper, composites, laminates, and more.
The MicroMAX has a footprint of 1,880 mm x 2,134 mm (not inclusive of controller or
pump) and a height of 2,134 mm. It has an X-Y cutting envelope of 635 mm x 635 mm, a Z-axis travel of 114 mm, and a table size of 889 mm x 914 mm. The standard model has a speed of 2,540 mm/min, a repeatability of plus or minus 0.0025 mm, and a ballbar circularity of plus or minus 13 nanometers.
It features a rigid structure with low mass bridges and carriages and matched thermal expansion on all components. Its full enclosure with environmental controls reduces operational noise, typically below 80 decibels.
The MicroMAX comes standard with OMAX’s 7/15 Mini MAXJET 5 Nozzle, which has a 0.007 inch orifice and a 0.015 inch mixing tube combination, but the system can be outfitted with one of OMAX’s other nozzle offerings upon request. The 7/15 Mini MAXJET 5 Nozzle can produce a kerf as small as 0.015 inches. The Nozzle is designed to be compact with a single abrasive feed tube and have a narrow jet stream to carry finer abrasive material.
MicroMAX is shipped as a pre-assembled system and features several optional accessories for solids removal, water recycling, and more. MicroMAX uses OMAX’s IntelliMAX software suite.
