Boschert (Butler, WI) ElectroBend series of press brakes offers efficient servo electric bending. Boschert offers three models in this series: G ElectroBrake 2060, G ElectroBrake 2580, and G ElectroBrake 3100. The three models have bending capacities of 60, 80, and 100 tons and working lengths of 2100, 2600, and 3100 mm respectively. The 2060 and 2580 models have strokes of 350 mm and the 3100 model has a stroke of 240 mm. All models have a daylight of 600 mm, a table width of 84 mm, a working speed of 20 mm/sec, and an upstroke speed of 100 mm/sec.
Boschert reports 50% less energy consumption compared to a hydraulic press brake, and the nonuse of hydraulic fluids further contributes to minimizing environmental impact as well as decreasing operating costs. The ElectroBend series contains two windings inside the motor, one for the bend (high torque and low rpm) and one for ram movements (high rpm and low torque). These two windings help to reduce cycle times by up to 35% compared to hydraulic press brakes.
The ElectroBend features a rigid O-frame, which minimizes deformation and ensures that the tools do not move laterally to the bend line. The ram position is controlled by two linear encoders, providing an accuracy of plus or minus 0.001 mm. The ElectroBend’s rollers feature twin sealed ball bearings and a steel cord reinforced belt, eliminating the need to maintain or lubricate the system and decreasing the operating cost and burden.
