The ByTube 130 from Bystronic (Niederönz, Switzerland) processes tubes with several modes to optimize for speed, precision, and cut quality. The machine is compatible with a wide range of applications for all types of metal, in diameters ⅜-5 in. (10-130 mm) and raw materials up to 27.89 ft. (8.5 m).
It features Laserscan, which provides real time compensation for natural twisting and bending of the tube. The product uses front and rear sensors to scan the profile of the tube, taking roughly 0.5 seconds per piece, and improves the cutting accuracy to plus or minus 0.02 mm.
The system also includes Bystronic’s Quick Cut technology, allowing the user to optimize for speed or accuracy. Quick Cut in performance mode moves the tube in sync with the cutting head to reduce cutting time up to 10 percent. Quick Cut in quality mode, ideal for small parts, keeps the tube stationary to reduce vibrations and wobbling.
The system is equipped with a fiber laser source up to 3 kW and is able to manipulate tubes with a maximum weight of 11 pounds/foot (17 kg/m). The ByTube 130 includes bundle loading for tubes with a minimum length of 8.2 feet (2.5 m) and uses Bystronic’s TubeMaster CAD/CAM software.
