Kawasaki’s (Wixom, MI) RS013N robot’s design includes a new arm structure and lighter main unit, which enables high speeds and a large working area. It has a reach of 1,460 mm (57.5 inches), allowing for installation flexibility and use in a wider range of applications.
The RS013N’s internal ethernet wiring enables easy connection to a vision system or other peripheral devices, and its floor, ceiling, and wall mount options provide installation flexibility for any layout. The dust-tight system has a full-body IP67 rating, fully covered motors, and waterproof electrical connections, allowing the robot to be used in virtually any environment. The system also has a reduced interference zone around the robot base.
The light-weight arm and high-output, high-revolution motors provide fast acceleration and operating speeds. The acceleration rate automatically adjusts to suit the payload and robot posture to optimize performance and shorten cycle times. Additionally, the high-output motors and rigid arm construction provide a high torque rating and load capacity. This torque rating lets system designers select from a broad range of end-of-arm tooling.
Built-in pneumatic lines and internal wiring for sensors and solenoid valves come standard. Mounting pads and taps are provided to allow easy installation of additional cabling, tubing, or equipment. The RS013N supports a payload of 13 kg and has a repeatability of plus or minus 0.03 mm.
