AMADA’s HRB 1003 ATC is a hydraulic-driven, 110-ton (US) rated press brake with a 3-meter bed length. This model comes paired with the Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) and is made in the US at AMADA’s High Point, NC facility. The base press brake is a real workhorse, fitting into a useful slot at almost any fabrication firm, but with the ATC addition it’s a workhorse that runs as fast as a thoroughbred.
The ATC handles all setups and teardowns of tooling, including multi-stage setups. No matter how complex or how many tools are included, only rarely does it take more than four minutes to do the setup. The high level of automation means that even a newcomer can get introductory training and be productive in a very short time.
ATC models like this one have AGRIP-A punch holders as standard equipment. They are compatible with AMADA’s HRB AFH punches that have tool fall protection. The hydraulic auto-clamping provides fast, easy tool setup to increase bending productivity.
The multiple axis backgauge expedites the setup for complex parts. The backgauge has a lightweight and rigid design, allowing for precise, high-speed positioning. Independent servo drives for L-axis as well as L-shift provide tapered and offset gauging. Positioning repeatability is excellent (L-axis +/- 0.001”).
A standard feature of the HRB 1003 ATC is the AMNC 3ie controller, which features a user-friendly, graphical interface that displays bend results before processing. The control has a “lite” mode so that fabricators of all skill levels can create bending programs quickly. The screen configuration depends on each operator’s user authentication function (so, for example, a new user cannot perform supervisory actions). The AMADA vSDD software database provides program storage on a local server when the control is networked.
